Kathmandu. In the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) released by the National Examination Board (Class 10) on Thursday, the most number of students got non-grade in the compulsory subjects.
Students who get non-grade in any one subject will not be allowed to study class 11.
In class 10, Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Education are being taught as the main compulsory subjects.
According to the results, the most number of students got non-grade (NG) in compulsory mathematics. According to the public results on Thursday morning, 177,985 students got NG (non-grade) in mathematics.
4 lakh 64 thousand 785 students participated in the compulsory mathematics examination. More students have failed in science and technology, which is taught as a compulsory subject after compulsory mathematics. 1 lakh 26 thousand 933 people got non grade in science. 4 lakh 64 thousand 332 students participated in the compulsory science and technology examination. Similarly, 1 lakh 13 thousand 383 people have failed in the English subject which is compulsory. 4 lakh 64 thousand 719 students participated in the compulsory English subject exam.
Similarly, 73 thousand 877 students in social studies and 69 thousand 532 students in compulsory Nepali have received non-grade. Proportionally, the failure rate of students taking optional subjects is lower than that of compulsory subjects. Students can study subjects such as mathematics, economics, environment, geography as optional. According to the results, 69 thousand 416 students got NG i.e. non grade in economics.
2 lakh 27 thousand 840 students participated in the optional economics subject. Similarly, the board informed that 20 thousand 352 people got NG in optional mathematics. Out of the total number of students, 160,000 269 students took the exam in this subject. 3 thousand 511 people have brought NG on optional environment. 21 thousand 130 students participated in this subject. The grade enhancement exam will be conducted on July 18 and 19 for students who get NG up to two subjects. Students who get NG in more than two subjects will be allowed to take the exam of only the subject in which they got NG in the examination to be held in March. The board has released the results this year as per letter grading guidelines, 2078.
In which theoretical and internal evaluation has been done differently. The board has arranged that the students should score at least 35 percent in each subject on the theoretical side. In the theoretical exam of 75 marks, minimum 26.25 marks and 40 percent i.e. 10 marks in the internal exam of 25 marks have been arranged. 4 lakh 64 thousand 785 students participated in the examination which started from 15th of Chait. Only 47.86 percent students have passed the exam.
