Kathmandu. During the health examination of about 200,000 people in Nepal, 1,500 people were found to be infected with HIV AIDS.
In the economic survey of the financial year 2080/081 presented by Finance Minister Varshman Pun Ananth on Sunday in both houses of the Federal Parliament, it is mentioned that 1,536 people were found to be HIV positive in the tests conducted on 197,167 people. This is the figure till February of the current financial year.
During that period, 35 thousand 43 HIV-infected people have been distributed medicines from Anti-Retro Viral Treatment (ART) centers. Until February of the last financial year, drugs were distributed to 23 thousand 760 infected people including 61 pregnant women belonging to the Mother-to-Child HIV Prevention (PMT City) program from the ART center.
