Jayanti Memorial Trust (JMT), a non-profit organization established in 2001 by the late Helen Shah in loving memory of her daughter, late Jayanti Shah research of all forms of cardiovascular disease in Nepal. Driven by the mission to make cardiac care accessible to all, especially underserved communities, the Trust funds its ongoing humanitarian programs through dividends generated by Fishtail Lodge in Pokhara.
The Trust conducted a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training program for the staff of Maruti Cements Ltd. The specialized session was facilitated by American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Trainers.
As part ofa pivotal Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaboration focused on public health safety, Maruti Cements Ltd. provided a major donation of CPR mannequins to Jayanti Memorial Trust. These assets directly facilitated the Trust's inaugural Basic Life Support (BLS) training session, serving as the foundation for a nation-wide life-skills training initiative.
The initiative aimed to equip corporate frontline personnel with essential emergency medical skills, fostering safer work environments and immediate response capabilities. A total of 18 staff members from Maruti Cements participated in high-fidelity simulations and practical training, alongside 2 JMT staff members who joined to support internal capacity building.
The interactive curriculum covered critical emergency modules, including core importance of immediate CPR, step-by-step adult resuscitation techniques, specialized CPR and foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) management, hands-on practice developing practical application under expert supervision, including using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
In a significant contribution to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and public health safety, CEO Mr Anand Nepal officially handed over the training assets on behalf of Maruti Cements Ltd. to representatives of Jayanti Memorial Trust including Mrs Shradha Rana, Dr. Rabi Malla, Mrs Prati Badan Dangol, and Mr Madan Prasad Rimal.

This critical equipment acquisition marks a transformative milestone for JMT, lifting past equipment constraints and achieving complete operational self-reliance. Moving forward, JMT has finalized a strategic roadmap to scale its life-saving BLS training programs nationwide across various provinces across Nepal aiming to decentralize vital medical knowledge and
establish CPR-ready communities in high-risk industrial zones and remote areas.
